Team Games on the Grass

Come act like a kid again and play in a variety of games on our 5-acre front lawn. Organized games include referee/scorekeeper, all necessary equipment, and a set of rules. Set up can include any variety of the following games:

Ocean Edge Wacky Races

We will turn our 5-acre lawn into a field day for your group! Get your teams together to compete in various Wacky Races to earn points in this progressive competition! Five teams will participate in several events, such as egg on spoon relay races, 3 legged races, potato sack races, water balloon toss, and more. The event culminates in a tug-o-war challenge.

Length of Event: 2 hours

Tennis Round Robin

For those tennis lovers in your group! A fun tournament event that provides participants with a relaxed atmosphere in which to meet and play tennis with many different people in a relatively short period of time. The Round Robin format uses quick rotations of 4 games per round. Players report their scores and immediately are paired with another player to play against two new players. This mixing works well with players of all levels and the team building angle comes into the picture because players now must help each other against a possibly stronger team.

Length of Event: 2 hours
Cost: $30 per player (6 person minimum), Racquet rental is available.

Golf Putting Contest

Take advantage of our Jack Nicklaus Design Golf Course. Challenge the group to a putting contest and see who has the finesse to get the ball in the hole. Groups can compete in longest putt or closest to the hole competitions for a competitive environment that builds team camaraderie.

Dune Tours

Experience the history, culture, and ecology of the Provincetown Dunes in the National Seashore Park in a comfortable SUV fitting up to 6 guests each. Dune tours run from March through mid-November.

Cranberry Bog Visits

Visit a nearby bog and learn about the year-round process of cultivating the land and growing cranberries. See the equipment and visit with the farm animals. Please note that cranberry season is very short in the fall and cranberry sightings is not guaranteed.

Oyster Tours

Venture into the shallow waters off our beach at low tide to learn about the aquaculture of the bay and the process of oyster farming. Our expert guide will show you the local Brewster Oysters farm which provides oysters for our restaurants. This unique experience is a guest-favorite!

Museums Visits

Head our on an educational trip to The Cape Cod Museum of Art, featuring exciting exhibits and local art, or The Cape Cod Natural History Museum, which highlights the true natural beauty in the history of Cape Cod and features its own aquarium, bee hive, and butterfly house.

Communication, Creativity, & Listening

Engage your group in new ways. Challenge them in the areas of communication, creativity, and listening. These workshops will get the creative juices flowing while fostering an environment of communication and team support.

Improv Comedy Workshop

Improv Comedy Workshop
Designed like a televised session of “Whose Line is it Anyway”, this workshop is lead and instructed by the Director of FUN at Ocean Edge Resort – Jessie Getlik. Jessie has hosted this exact workshop for all ages at various resorts and on cruise ships over the last 6 years. This workshop encourages participants to let go of daily stresses and get a bit silly. The workshop includes various exercises that engage in communication & listening skills as well as encourages creativity and whimsical thinking. Every single person will participate in this workshop either in a group scene, individually, or simply as a group/audience. Think your group needs to loosen up? Improv comedy exercises will stimulate the mind, voice, and physicality of its participants. The group is sure to leave this workshop with fun memories.

Animation Workshop

Is your group into the visual arts? Try the Animation Workshop, lead and instructed by the Director of FUN at Ocean Edge Resort- Jessie Getlik. During this workshop, your group will discuss what it takes to produce an animated film scene and will learn the importance of building character, setting, conflict, and resolution. It will start with an exercise or 2 to get the brain flowing and by the end of the workshop, your group will be able to take home their own drawing. Jessie will instruct step by step how to draw a Disney character.

TV Style Gameshow

This hosted event is sure to get everyone involved & engaged. Think of those gameshows you know & love on TV- Family Feud, The Wheel of Fortune, Love & Marriage Gameshow, Minute to Win It, etc. Our Director of FUN will whip up & recreate a gameshow customized for your group. Whether it be “The Feud” or “The Wheel” or even a “So You Think You Know your Co-worker/Boss”. Our team will work with you to determine which style gameshow will best fit what you are looking for and we can customize questions to fit your group’s demographic/style/needs. An event that guests will be sure to remember!

Balloon Twist Workshop

No clowning around at this workshop! Your group will have 1 hour with the Director of FUN at Ocean Edge Resort- Jessie Getlik. Jessie will introduce the art of Balloon Twisting and will instruct your group on how to make a few balloon creations. The balloons used do contain latex and this workshop is not recommended for those with a latex allergy. See if you can get creative and come up with a new balloon creation!

Clam “Chowdah” Cook-Off

In our new playfully named experience, one of the resort chefs guides guests on how to make a classic New England clam chowder, step by step. Guests can replicate the recipe or spin it by adding in a selection of vegetables of their choosing for a personalized twist. Then chef will select the best chowder from group.

Strategy, Plan of Action, & Teamwork

Time to get hands on & involved! Work together and take advantage of the variety of talents within your group. These events focus on teamwork, planning, and group problem solving.

Photo Scavenger Hunt

To win this scavenger hunt, don’t be camera shy! We will send your guests throughout our property to different locations and to collect photos from clues. These clues will require teams to be creative, while the team photographer captures it all on film. The team to figure out all the clues, get to the appropriate places, will win but only if they have the photographs to prove it. A camera and/or cell phone per team is required.

Boat Building Regatta

Literally Team Building! Teams race against the clock to build a working, unsinkable boat using minimal supplies and a lot of creativity. Teams must decorate and name their watercraft, appoint a team captain, and create a wacky team cheer that they will have to share with all. After completing their watercraft, teams will head to our pool where they put their boats to the test. One at a time the teams will christen their boats with an introduction and cheer. Then it is time to put them in the water to compete in a movement test as well as a weight test.

Length of Event: 2-3 hours
Pricing: $300 per team (up to 10 people per team). Max of 8 teams.

Ocean Edge Quest

Let’s see which team can learn their way around to obtain all the items! This event can be tailored to the needs of the group. We will use the entire property to find anything and everything. Each item is awarded a certain amount of points; the team with the most points at the end will be the champions.

Sand Sculpting

Get a little sandy and create a masterpiece with friends and co-workers or work independently to bring your creation to life. We can turn the event into a contest or just provide the shovels and tools (maybe even a little coloring for added fun); all you need is your imagination! You can pick your own theme or let us pick one for you.

Putting for Charity – Build Your Own Mini Golf

Teams of up to 10 people will design, construct, and test their own design for a Mini Golf hole! However, all items used for this project are items that will be donated to the local food bank – the Family Pantry of Cape Cod. We will provide the canned/boxed food items, tape, scissors, and fun craft supplies. Each team will be provided with green carpeting for their putting area and must remain within those measures. Teams will have to work together to plan, design, and construct their own mini golf hole. Creativity will gain them points as they will be judged at completion. Teams will then get to test their putting skills before dismantling and boxing up for donation to the local food bank. Ocean Edge will handle the donation delivery unless your organization would like to personally make an appearance at the Food Pantry.
